Source Policy
Transparency is critical to PRE. We require at least one authoritative source to be attached to an entry before it can be published.
Source Tier System
Sources are evaluated and ranked according to our Tier System. Higher-tier sources are preferred and given priority when resolving conflicting information.
International Building Code (IBC), OSHA regulations, FEMA reports.
National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) manuals, ASTM standards.
Product data sheets, installation manuals from recognized manufacturers.
Peer-reviewed studies, recognized trade journals.
General articles, contractor blogs (used sparingly and only when corroborated).
Displaying Sources
Sources are explicitly listed at the bottom of every entry under the "Sources" section. Furthermore, specific claims within the text are often marked with inline evidence markers linking directly to the source material.
